Optomap
At Innisfail Eyecare Centre, we use Optomap wide field technology to enhance your comprehensive eye exam. This technology captures up to a 200 degree view of the retina in a single, quick, non-invasive image, far beyond what traditional methods can achieve. Optomap imaging allows our doctors to detect early signs of disease, monitor changes over time and provide a more complete picture of your eye health.
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
OCT is non-invasive imaging that uses light waves to capture cross sectional images of the retina. This technology allows us to map and measure layers of the retina, macula and optic nerve to guide diagnoses and treatment decisions. The information from OCT imaging provided to your optometrist at Innisfail Eyecare Centre is invaluable in conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, macular holes and more.
Visual Fields
Visual field testing evaluates peripheral (side) vision to identify blind spots or areas of reduced sensitivity. This information is a key tool in diagnosing and managing conditions such as glaucoma.
At Innisfail Eyecare Centre we provide visual field testing to support both medical assessments, driving eligibility and for occupational requirements. Visual field testing is important in conditions such as glaucoma, MS, pituitary gland disorders, brain tumors, strokes and monitoring side effects of certain medications. We are also pleased to offer visual field testing as required by Alberta Transportation for licence applications and renewals, when required. In addition, we perform assessments for individuals applying to certain occupations, including Calgary Police Services, the RCMP and other professions with specific visual standards.
